I love Tango! to me.. it is the most passionate and fascinating dance ever. so trying to keep my self busy (la2any fathya o kilish kilish mawaray sheghel mashalah;/ ) ... I decided to check out some facts about this incredible oh-la-la dance!
well,to those who don't know.. this wonderful dance was originally a solo dance performed only by women. and some say it stared in spain or/and morocco in the early 19th century!!!!! (shakla wa7ed 3arabi m6ale3 isha3a)..anyways, then it was performed later by one or two couples using castanets (Andalusian tango). Later, Ballroom Tango (a7la type of tango) originated in the lower class of Buenos Aires and some say by the African community in Buenos Aires ... as the name and the dance yayeen 3eshtaw min some African culture o el thaher ele sema3 hal shay lezag morocco bl mawthoo3!!! 3mooman... the story of Tango (ele malha sheghel bil Africans.. bs bil lower class) as told is that it started with the gauchos of Argentina (Argentinian cowboys). They would go to the crowded night clubs and ask the local girls to dance.Since the gaucho kanaw motharbeen o hadn't showered, the lady would dance in the crook of the man's right arm, holding her head back. Her right hand was held low on his left hip, close to his pocket, looking for a payment for dancing with him. The man danced in a curving fashion because the floor was small with round tables, so he danced around and between them. Ba3deeeeeeeeen the dance spread throughout Europe in the 1900's.
lel2asaf the history of tango is not clear. For the first century of its history, the dance was neglected by historians and academics. ma3a6o el tango wayh until it achieved its respectibility and was introduced to the upper class!
Now, to those of you interested in music. Phrasing is an important part of Tango. Most Tango music phrased to 16 or 32 beats of music. Tango music is like a story. It contains paragraphs (Major phrases); sentences (Minor phrases); and the period at the end of the sentence is the Tango close. whatever that means.. it sounds cool.. !
